The Cat House on the Kings doesn't only take in surrendered cats, we also actively rescue cats and kittens from local animal shelters, restore them to health, and find them loving homes. We rescue and place dozens of cats and kittens every year. Oh, and we don't just rescue cats — we take in puppies and dogs too!

If you cannot decide which critter would be the best match for your family, just fill out a general cat or dog adoption application and one of our adoption coordinators will be happy to help match you with someone suitable.
All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites and microchipped. All cats and kittens are tested for FeLV/FIV and litter-box trained. For more information please read about how to adopt a cat or dog from The Cat House.

Archie
This kitten was rescued and brought to our santuary when it was about 3wks old. It was bottlefed in a wonderful loving foster home. Archie has lots of energy and personality. He loves to eat and can hold his own in almost any situation.
Ashlee
WANTED--A cat savy home that loves a cat with alot of Personality! Ashlee wants to be wherever the action is, "helping" to make dinner, in the sink when dishes are washed, etc. She loves to explore new things. Her favorite vocabulary includes chirps and trills. She is a happy cat that enjoys everything. She would do fine with another active cat, or with a well behaved dog.
Baby Bleu
Baby Bleu was born at 10:00PM on April 5, 2010 and raised with lots of love by his mom and foster Mom. He is a real cutie with lots of energy! When he settles down he is all about cuddles and love,..the perfect kitten!
Bailey
Rescued from the spca when it was about 2 1/2 wks old. Foster parents had planned to keep her but financially were unable to continue to care for her. She is used to other cats and children.
Bluebird
Rescued from the spca when they were 7-8wks old. Very friendly. Loves to sit in your lap and purr. Also loves to play. Will do best with a companion.

These 3 kittens were rescued from a ranch where kids were mistreating them. They are now in foster care getting lots of love.
Candy
Candy was rescued from an Apartment complex where her owner moved out and left behind. She is very sweet and is looking for her very own home. Candy would be best as an only cat.
Carlie
She is an amazing cat. She has formed a special bond with the dog, Jordan, in her foster home. She loves to cuddle at night with her "mom" and Jordan. Carlie puts her arms around Jordan and grooms her during the night. It is the cutiest thing I have seen. Carlie loves to sit and look out the window on a sunny day. This precious sweet girl is a very outgoing kitty who would love to find her very own forever home. Cat 2432 was rescued from a home that could longer keep her. This wild-exotic mild cat is very loving and known to follow you where ever you go like a loyal dog. This breed is known to play and enjoy water. This beautiful Desert Lynx cat, along with many other cats, was rescued from a over populated cat home. She is very sweet and loves to be around people. Cat 2433 has a bunny tail, which some people love! Her breed is also known to be very loyal like that of a dog and will follow you where ever you go. Also known to love to play in water. Cruiser was in a wonderful home who could no longer keep him so they brought him to The Cat House on the Kings to find his furrever family.Cruiser is a very unique color od orange and gets along good with the other kitties in his foster home. He starts of a bit shy but soon makes up for it with lots of purrs.
Dora
Dora IS the explorer! She is the fearless, intrepid, life is to be lived kitten of kittens. This little girl loves to stick her face into the dog food dish when doggie dinner is being served. Good thing her three dog siblings don't mind! She has the exact same attitude and spirit with her household of foster cats. She's the initiator of all fun and games, running throughout the house in order to get others to chase her. Then, when she is finally out of energy, she finds a warm, friendly lap to crash on. In some ways, she's been so busy that she has yet to discover how wonderful life can be just to hang out on a lap and watch the others play.
Flower
Flower is a wonderful, outgoing, full of energy kitten, that loves to be cuddled. She gets along great with the other kittens and cats in her foster home. She plays and play but always wants to know where her human is and will run to her foster mom meowing to be picked up and cuddled for bit, then off she goes again. She is an absolute delight. Her brother is Rusty.
Frankie
Frankie was rescued from the fresno spca at 5 weeks on his very last day. He is friendly, playful, and loves to be with people. He is very confident and would do well with school age children. Would love to have a companion to play with.
Guendolyn
Guen was a stray in someones's back yard where she was attcked by a dog. A good Samaritan rescued her and called the Cat House on the Kings. We rescued her and she had surgery to repair her injuries. Guen is playful and loving. She has unique markings on her back. She would be fine as an only kitten but does ok with other cats as well.
Gypsum
Gypsum was rescued from the SPCA, I though he was a she and we named her Gypsy, found out its a boy so changed it to Gypsum. Gypsum is very lovable and sweet. loves to sleep with his person and is a little purr bucket. Gypsum looks like he is going to be a big boy just check out the size of his paws.
Hunny Bunny
This beautiful Manx kitty was saved from the CCSCPA. She is a wonderful girl who would make an especially loving pet. Bunny likes to talk things over with her purrson and in many ways is more like a dog than a cat. She is an affectionate kitty who would do best in a home with older children and adults. Bunny is not a lap cat but she does like to be with you most of the time, ie If I am on the computer she is sitting in front of it on the desk. She is a special needs kitty and does have very mild Manx syndrome which is managed by diet.

Karl
Rescued from fresno spca with his brothers, Karl has it all!! He is a beautiful red tabby with white tuxedo markings. He is really, really sweet and affectionate...he is very, very playful ,and he loves everyone. You couldn't find a more perfect new family member.
Kindle
Kindle was rescued from a trap in someones back yard. Not sure what they were going to do with her but now she is safe and sound in foster care looking for her safe forever home. She is the sweetest little thing, happily playing with her toys and enjoying love and kisses from her foster mom.
Kitten 3080

This wonderful kitten had a very ruff start at life, but she has managed to stay as sweet as candy. She was rescued from the CCSCPA in mid April in hopes of finding a place she can call home. This family of kittens where found in a local park by one of our supporters. Luckily for all of them they where brought in to The Cat House on the Kings. Kitten 3632 is another Tortoiseshell sister that was found in a park, and luckily for all of them a supporter of The Cat House found them and brought them to the shelter. She has become accustomed to the shelter lifestyle, but is still very reserved to the people she comes in contact with. We are unsure of why her and her family where running around in a park, but we are hoping someone will be able to open their home up to this precious kitten. She will require some patience and oodles of love.

Again, a rescue from the local kill shelter, kitten 3639 was destined to die due to his age and size, but The Cat House stepped in to stop that because of this kitten's wonderful personality. He loves to check out each person who comes to visit him in his assigned kitten room, but if there's no one to show off for, then he's playing with all of his other rescued buddies. I'm not shy!! Really I'm not. These pictures simply do not do me justice. I truly do love people and can't wait for my new home where I will be loved and cared for by my own family. Don't get me wrong, I really am grateful to The Cat House folks for rescuing me and my family from that other place. I just know something awful was going to happen to us there. But, my cuteness prevailed. I have been pampered and cared for by this wonderful rescue group. They got me fixed, gave me shots and took care of any bad things I may have had. This sweet, adorable kitten was very fortunate to have been rescued from the CCSCPA. His transition to the sanctuary was very easy for him and he had no trouble adjusting to his new lifestyle. This is truly a very sweet, passive girl. She was rescued from the CCSCPA moments before being euthanized, luckily our troops happen to be there at the right moment and brought her to the shelter at a chance of finding her very own home. When she arrived to The Cat House she didn't have any issues adjusting at all, in fact she walked in as if she owned the place. Kitten 3812 plays well with all the other kittens, but she also doesn't mind being by herself somewhere taking a nap. Please help this great girl become part of your family!

Kitten 3813 arrived to The Cat House with his sister and they both adjusted well to their shelter lifestyle. After a very short stay they went to foster care, and received undivided attention from their foster family. He has a great personality and doesn't mind being around the other cats. This precious girl has had a very unhappy start a life as she ended up being one of many kittens at the CCSCPA. Luckily for her she was rescued and then brought to The Cat House, where hopefully she can find her very own home. Kitten 3826 was rescued from a very busy shopping center and unfortunately for this kitten it has caused him much stress. He was also very malnourished and practically skin and bones when he initially arrived to the shelter. Since his rescue he has adjusted well to the sanctuary lifestyle , but is still very shy around people. We have been working with him, but he still does require a bit of socialization. Kitten 3826 is still very deserving of his very own home, and we're hoping that someone special will have the love and patience for this little guy.Â

This little fella had very ruff beginnings. It is uncertain how long he was living on the street, but luckily for him a special person came into their lives and brought them to The Cat House. Kitten 3827 along with his siblings arrived very thin and ate for minutes on in. He has manged to find his way around just fine, but is very reluctant to interact with humans. We have been teaming this group up with volunteers to help them break out of there shyness, but he requires a bit more. We would love to place this kitten a forever home!

Kitten 3852 was rescued from the CCSCA with his family. He arrived to The Cat House very much afraid and unsure of everything. After awhile of uncertainty from him, he started coming around slowly. He is still very apprehensive of humans, but he will allow you to hold him. Kitten 3852 does get along great with all the other kittens, and doesn't mind sharing his space. The only thing we could hope for is that someone, will open their home to this unfortunate cat.

This adorable kitten was rescued from the CCSCPA moments, just before seeing his final days. He arrived to The Cat House very frightened and scared. He doesn't mind being around the other kittens, but gets really shaken up when it comes to being around people. This wonderful kitten was rescued through one of our foster care providers. She took this girl home and gave her tons of love and attention. Maggie was spotted at a rest stop on HWY 99 in Turlock by my boss on Easter Sunday. I put a help ad out to the cat loving community on Craigslist and a nice lady went to the rest stop & got her for me. Cat House on the Kings rescued her & I am fostering her. She is a very young cat about 6 months old and very loving. She wants to sit in your lap for lots of rubs and loves to be brushed. She is a little shy at first but warms up very fast. She seems to get along ok with other cats but is a little wary of them. I have her in my kitten room and she tolerates them fine. Maggie needs a very special home because of being abandoned by someone who was suppose to love and protect her but only cared enough to dump her where she would die a horrible death. She is a little under weight but is eating good and gaining weight now. Maggie would make a great addition to a quiet home.

Oompa was rescued by Tammy who love orange kittens. Oompa got his name from the movie Willie Wonka since he and his brother are orange like the Oompa Loompas and kind of act like big lumps. Oompa has a request for a special kind of home. He wants a home with kids, little girls who will dress him up and carry him around like a baby. He loves this kind of attention, all attention. He will sleep with his girl and snuggle under the covers. He gets along with other cats and Cookie the pug. This litter was rescued at the last minute from the spca. Their foster mom says that they are the most affectionate litter ever! Oscar is extremely affectionate and loves to give licks and kisses. He purrs the minute you touch him...what a doll! Oscar is definitely a lap cat and likes lots of attention.
Paris
Paris was born in a Selma vineyard to an anti-social mom. She was rescued from being possible lunch for the local coyotes. She didn't much care for human contact the first week, but has since discovered we really are lots of fun and we provide the food! She earned the name "Paris" as she is quite the blonde diva. Her markings will deepen and become more distinct as she grows up.
Peaches
These 3 kittens were rescued from a ranch where kids were mistreating them. They are now in foster care getting lots of love.
Puzzle
Rescued from the spca when they were 6-8wks old. She is sweet, playful, and longs to be held. Will be great with a another kitten like her sister Pekoe.
Remington
This gorgeous boy was brought to a Cat House veterinarian in an onion sack, of all things! Remington was too cute to be turned away, so he now belongs with the rest of the rescued Cat House kids. His coloring is what earned him his name. He's the color of stainless steel, which led to Remington Steele or Remi for short. He's a bundle of play and energy, but when he's tired, off he goes for a long nap. He also loves to tell you when it's dinner time, just in case you forget. He has developed a fun and playful relationship with two foster siblings and fit in with the adults as well. He's not so fond of his dog foster family, but... maybe with time.... who knows?
Ricky
Rescued from the spca when they were about 4 wks old. Ricky is a lovebug. He loves to snuggle into your neck. He is playful and the leader of his litter in new situations. He will do great with a companion.
Riley
Rescued from the spca when they were about 4 wks old. Riley has lots of energy and loves to play. Can take on almost anything. He is loving and affectionate as well. He and his bro. Ricky make a great pair.
Rosie
Mom and kittens rescued from the spca when the kittens were about 2 wks old. Her kittens are ready to find their own home, and she is also ready to find her own home. She is initially a little shy, but warms up with a little time and patience.

This very young mom and her 4 babies were rescued from the spca when the babies were 5-6 wks old. Taffy has very cute markings. She has longer hair and has the look of a Maine Coon mix kitten. She is loving and playful. Will do well with a companion, esp. one of her sibs.

Rescued from the spca where he came in as a stray. He had a collar but no ID and no one ever came to claim him. He is very friendly, loves to play. Delightful to have around.

Thomas appears to be a Bengal mix. His markings are very striking black stripes over a beautiful red gold background. He is big for his age, full of energy and very affectionate. He is one of the most beautiful Mackaral Tabbies I have ever seen and lives to love and play.

Tilly was rescued from Woodward Park. She is very friendly but needs some time to get used to a new environment. Loves to be petted and sit in your lap. She has a great purr. Gets along great with other cats/kittens.

Rescued from spca at 5-6wks of age. She is a great combination of playful and affectionate. She is moderately active rather than off the walls like some siamese are. She also likes to sit in our lap and be with her people. She is fine with other cats once she gets to know them. She will make a great companion.
Waldo
Waldo is a very sweet little boy who would love to have his own home & to be loved. Waldo is a little shy at first but warms right up and make himself right at home. He is curious, loves to explore, and to be with people. Cat treats and play are the way to his heart. He is great with other cats and would love to have a companion.

We still have kittens we've rescued from local shelters. Many are very young — too young to be adopted — and need lots of TLC and handling to bond with humans.
Never done this before? Don't worry! We'll provide all the stuff you need to get started, and we'll be in contact so that you'll know what to do, and you'll have a good experience. And who knows, maybe you'll bond with your kitten, and end up adopting him!
Sponsor a Cat
We know that some of our cats, for whatever reasons — old age, trauma, or medical problems — will never be adopted and will spend their lives here. We cherish these kitties and always want to be able to provide the best for them. We promised them that they would never again have to worry about having enough food to eat, a warm bed in which to snuggle, or a caring human to give them lots of love and to take care of their health.
We also realize that some of you may not be able to adopt one of our cats but would like to be able to help them out. That's why we have the SPONSOR-A-CAT program. You can become a sponsor for just $15 a month.
Your donation helps pay for the basic needs of each cat during its stay with us. When you sign-up to sponsor a cat you will be able to view their story and latest pictures. You are also welcome (and encouraged!) to visit us and "your" cat as often as you can. The cats do remember frequent visitors, and enjoy the individual love and attention their sponsors provide.

Annie was rescued from the overcrowded CCSPCA moments before seeing her final days. She adjusted well to the sanctuary lifestyle and had no issues with befriending the other K-9s that also live here. Annie enjoys to play fetch and she''ll show you how delighted she is to spend time with you. This gorgeous girl is also housebroken and overall is a great companion. Gretchen was found in a busy shopping center, and for her safety she was brought to The Cat House on the Kings. Her temperament is one that will need help and patience. Once she becomes accustom to you she seems to let her guard down a little bit. Gretchen is a very cute dog, but she will need help in becoming more outgoing. HERE'S THE DOG'S STORY in Bill Jenkins' words:
My dad adopted two male puppies 6 years ago from the same litter. These dogs have been his focus in life for the last few years. He loves them dearly and they were very attached to him until he fell in March and broke his hip and has been in the hospital and skilled nursing for the last 4 months.
My parents live in Coarsegold on ten acres and these brothers were able to run the place but were also penned for long periods of time. There is a pond on the property and they loved going down to the pond and getting their feet wet though neither one is much of a water dog.
Tiger is the mastiff looking one with a pretty laid back personality. He loves attention and gets along with other dogs as we have taken our 2 labs and bulldog up and everyone plays well together. He is the gentle giant type. He loves toys but tends to chew them up and is protective of them with other dogs.
