Poncho
Chihuahua
Black & White
About two weeks ago I decided to take my Australian Shepherds for a car ride over Rocky Hill in Exeter. It was early evening and the sun had already set. It was getting dark and I noticed ahead of me a truck’s brake lights came on. The truck had stopped in the road and threw something out then sped off. I figured they had tossedout some trash or something. As I got to the spot they had stopped at, I was shocked to see a little Chihuahua laying
in the road. He was shaking terribly and very afraid. I tried to pick him up but he ran off into the field and I couldn’t find him. I drove home and dropped off my dogs, got my daughter, and went back to the spot I had found him. He would walk toward us and then run back under the fence and into the field. Finally, my daughter was able to get him and we brought him home. My daughter decided to call him Poncho for now.
Poncho is very sweet, but quick movements scare him. He always wants to be in my lap, smart, and learning quickly on how to adapt to my house. He figured out how to use the dog door quickly. He comes when I call him but cowers a bit when you try to pick him up. Poncho has been a little aggressive toward my neighbors little dog but we are working on that and he has shown great improvement. I don’t know if he is house
trained because he has been staying outside mainly.
