HELP, HELP, HELP........ We know it seems like all we do is ask and/or beg for your help.  The truth is, we will always need and ask for your help.  As you can imagine, costs for The Cat House on the Kings to survive are substantial and we are solely dependant on donated funds for financial support.    In this HELP!! LETTER, we will be offering a variety of ways you can help us end the suffering of abused, neglected and unwanted animals.                                                  CAT TREE RAFFLE      There’s still time to get your raffle tickets for this beautiful cat tree, donated by Feline Fantasies.  This well constructed tree stands about 3 ½ feet tall, is a two-tone light beige in color and one of the posts is sisal wrapped for cats scratching pleasures.        Each ticket is just $1.00. Just send us a check marked RAFFLE TICKETS and your tickets will be mailed                                                                                  to you within 10 days.  The raffle will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 -  12 noon at PETCO on Blackstone and Ashlan in Fresno and you need not be present to win.                                                                                         100% OF THE PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE CAT HOUSE.   ANOTHER DRIVEWAY PROJECT      The circular driveway in front of the house and the adjoining entry to the garage are in desperate need of repair.  If we don’t repair this driveway soon, we will have to replace instead of repair, which will be much more costly.  The estimate is $13,000 for this repair.  If you can help, please send a check marked DRIVEWAY PROJECT.    YARD SALE      We are always collecting yard sale items.  The next one will be around the end of September - early October, when it cools off!!  For drop-off locations call us at 638-8696 or Judy at 298-3649.  Please, only clean sellable items.  Volunteers are also needed for the day of the yard sale (see VOLUNTEERS NEEDED on page 2). KARA’S CHALLENGE      We have received great response to Volunteer Kara’s challenge for everyone who receives the newsletter to donate $10 per month, but, unfortunately it isn’t enough to get us out of debt YET!!!  Keep those $10 checks coming in.  We appreciate every one more than you know!

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED      The Cat House couldn't operate without our wonderful volunteers, and we always need more! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities and try to match each person's skills with the activities they most enjoy. Volunteers of any age are welcome, but volunteers under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.  Please contact our new Volunteer Coordinator Kelli Pierce (she’s a volunteer!) by phone at 908-1564 or email at kellidpierce@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping with any of the following:   Shelter Workers and Cat Cuddlers assist the staff in caring for our cats. They groom, cuddle and play with the cats and kittens, scoop poop, clean, sweep, and mop, in general ensure that our shelter is clean and the animals get all of the affection and socialization they need.   Off-Site Adoptions in Fresno enable us to place more cats and kittens into permanent homes.   Foster Parents raise kittens in their homes, making sure they get the attention necessary during their first few months.   Fundraisers are always needed. We always welcome ideas and suggestions on building our financial resources to keep the shelter operating and improving. We also need volunteers to assist at fundraising events, such as yard sales, open houses and Super Adoption, throughout the year.
