Chaupo is a sweet little tabby boy with the gentlest heart. He appears a little smaller than the other kittens rescued before him during a TNR project. He may not be a sibling to the other foster kittens in the home but they cant tell the difference because theyve all been raised together. Chaupo was a very nervous kitten when he was first rescued. He was very fearful of people and unsure how he felt about human touch or being held. He needed time, patience and lots of love for him to blossom into the wonderful boy he is today. The moment you pick him up, he melts like butter. He loves being held close to you and loves to curl up near your neck or tuck himself into long hair. When hes getting attention he will give nose boops and rubs his little face against yours and asks for all of the attention. He loves affection and has become a tender and loving little guy. Chaupo can still be nervous when someone reaches for him, which is understandable with how his life started and how scared he was in the beginning. But once he realizes he is safe and you pick him up all of the tension disappears. He relaxes completely and just wants to be loved. He has spent a lot of time being handled and socialized in our the home and seeing his progress was very rewarding for his foster family. He is proof that patience and kindness can make big differences. Chaupo would do well with a family who understands that he may just need a little more reassurance at first. Someone who will continue giving him the gentle affection he has learned to expect and completely deserves. In return, you get the sweetest little cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be tucked up close to his person. He has come such a long way and now hes ready for his forever home where he can keep learning that people are safe, loving and his favorite place to be.
