Girl Scouts Silver Award, July 6th 2019

To earn their Silver Award, the Girl Scout Troop 2402 Cadettes in Kingsburg CA, was tasked to give back to the community. The girls chose to look to The Cat House on the Kings for a sustainable service project that would last for a minimum of 3 years. Our volunteer coordinator Beth suggested that the cats and kittens are in need of enrichment activities. The girls decided to sew and construct “Purr Cat beds” and “Cat-tuses”. Over the month of June they sewed, knotted felt and constructed two hanging cat beds and two Cat-tuses, which are scratching posts made out of sisal rope. The troop was excited to see the cats jump and use them the moment they reached the facility.
