Petco Love Story Celebration – Sunday, December 19th, 2021

The Love Stories campaign was created by Petco Love to celebrate pet adoption and the spirit of giving during the holiday season. Petco Love, in partnership with BOBS from Sketchers, invited individuals who have adopted a pet to share how their pet has changed their life for the better for a chance to give back to the animal welfare organization that helped bring them together. To-date more than 20,000 touching stories have been submitted by adopters across the nation.

This year 100 winning stories were selected, totaling more than $1 million in grant awards to help rescues like ours, who work so hard to save pet lives!

Today, we were honored to celebrate John's story about how Katie changed his life. Thanks to John's story, Petco Love awarded The Cat House on the Kings a $1000 lifesaving grant to help save the lives of more pets in our community. John also received some BOBS from Sketchers shoes and a $50 Petco shopping spree so he can spoil Katie. Thank you Petco Love!

You can see the news coverage from ABC30 and CBS47/KSEE24, who were on hand to report on the celebration.

And finally, the story comes full circle: Katie was originally rescued by the staff at KMJ AM 580 & 105.9 FM, who found her in their parking lot and brought her to The Cat House on the Kings. They also reported on this celebration!
